Wattimena, Kleermaker, Jansen and Zonneveld qualified for Dutch Darts Championship
Wim Blokpoel - Today two European Tour qualifiers were held. One of them, was for the 2022 Dutch Darts Championship in Zwolle!
Jermaine Wattimena started against the in form Josh Rock, who he surprisingly beat 6-3. He then played another Northern Irishman in Daryl Gurney who he beat 6-4 to qualify for Zwolle, as he’ll play in his home country!
Martijn Kleermaker averaged 98,2 in a 6-1 win over Adam Gawlas, and then played German Florian Hempel, who he also beat, 6-3 to qualify!
Holten’s Danny Jansen, averaged 97,3 in a 6-3 win against Adam Hunt, and then it was an all Dutch clash against Kevin Doets. Jansen won it 6-5 with an average of 98,9 as the Dutch talent will play in his own region, playing in his very first PDC event with a Dutch crowd!
Uitgeest’s Niels Zonneveld, beat Almere’s Ron Meulenkamp 6-3, and then easily whitewashed John Brown 6-0. Zonneveld had to win a third game, and it was an all Dutch clash to qualify against Maik Kuivenhoven. Zonneveld won it 6-4 and made it 10 Dutch players in Zwolle, along Van Gerwen, Van Duijvenbode, Noppert, Van der Voort, Wattimena, Kleermaker, Jansen and two host nation qualifiers.

There was also a qualifier for the Eurotour in Trier with Dutch success. Niels Zonneveld convincingly beat Max Hopp 6-1, and then beat Ross Smith 6-3 to qualify for Trier and make it back to back qualifications! Eurotour qualifying monster Jermaine Wattimena, had a bye after Ryan Joyce withdrew, and then demolished Boris Krcmar 6-1 to qualify, making it 7/9 qualifications for the Eurotours this year!
Danny Noppert beat Jason Lowe 6-2, and the UK Open Champion then saw off former Lakeside World Champion Scott Mitchell 6-3 to comfortably qualify. Finally, Leidschendam’s Jeffrey de Zwaan beat Almere’s Kevin Doets 6-3 in an all Dutch clash, and then had a 6-4 win over Keane Barry to qualify for Trier!
