Wim Blokpoel - Today qualifiers have been played for the first 3 European tours of 2021, for the European players. In the first qualifier for the Hungarian Darts Trophy Richard Veenstra was the last Dutchman standing, in the last 8. He there played Canadian Matt Campbell who he beat 5-4, throwing a 16-darter in the last leg. In the semi’s Veenstra beat Austrian Rusty-Jake Rodriguez 5-2! In the final it was German Lukas Wenig, who Veenstra won against 5-3 with an average of 100,2! This means that Veenstra makes his Eurotour debut next september in Budapest!

In qualifier 2, for the Gibraltar Darts Trophy Veenstra made the last 4 as well, but lost 3-5 to Belgian Kenny Neyens. Surprisingly, Gillian Koehoorn did make the final after beating Rowby-John Rodriguez 5-3. However, Danny van Trijp did manage to win 5-2 to Wenig and fellow Dutch young talent Damian Mol Beat Rowby-John Rodriguez 5-1! In the semi’s Mol played French Thibault Tricole but got 0-4 down, however he made it back all the way to 4-4. Unfortunately he still lost in a last leg to Tricole 4-5. Van Trijp had more success, as he beat Blomme 5-4 to get to the final. There, Van Trijp won 5-2 against Tricole!
