Semi-Final for Noppert at PC6

Wim Blokpoel - Today PDC Players Championship 6 was held, with all Dutch tourcard holders except Michael van Gerwen involved in it.

UK Open Champion Danny Noppert started with a 6-4 win over Stephen Burton. Then in round 2 he had an all Dutch clash against Five time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld. Noppert averaged a ton as he won that game 6-2. In the last 32 The Freeze had another Dutch clash, now against Dirk van Duijvenbode. Both men averaged over 105 but it was Noppert who edged DVD out 6-5. In the last 16 Noppert had another 6-5 win, now over 2 time World Champion Adrian Lewis! A great run into the quarter-finals and here Noppert played Ian White. A 96 average from Noppert, saw him win 6-4! In the semi-finals Noppert played Rapid Ricky Evans. Noppert managed to hit a nine-darter!!! However, he still lost the game 4-7 with an average of 95,8. Still a very good day for the UK Open Champion!

Martijn Kleermaker managed to get only his second win of the year, and how! He averaged 103,4 in round 1 to demolish two time World Champion Scott Waites 6-1! In round 2 Kleermaker also beat Irish talent Keane Barry, 6-2. In his board final Kleermaker played Lewy Williams, who he edged out 6-5! Into the last 16, Kleermaker played Josh Rock, and lost 3-6 but a great run for Kleermaker who finds some needed form.

Before his defeat, Van Duijvenbode did win 2 games. In round 1 he beat Dutch American Jules van Dongen on stream, 6-2 and then he had a big 6-1 win over Joe Murnan in the last 64. Urk’s Geert Nentjes averaged 100,7 in the last 128 as he beat Luke Woodhouse 6-2! In round 2 Nentjes played on stream, and had a big 6-3 victory over Ryan Searle! In round 3 ‘The Spear’ lost 1-6 to Lewis.

Before his defeat to Noppert, Van Barneveld did average 102,4 to beat Welsh legend Richie Burnett 6-3 on the stream!

Unfortunately, that was already the last Dutch victory of the day. After a great run yesterday, Jeffrey de Zwaan lost 0-6 to Adam Gawlas in round 1 today. Maik Kuivenhoven missed matchdarts, and lost 5-6 to Joe Cullen, while Ron Meulenkamp came back from 2-5 down but still lost 5-6 to James Wade. Niels Zonneveld also lost 5-6, to Jason Lowe, while Kevin Doets also lost in an 11th leg, to Jason Heaver.
