Q & A November 2021: Jules van Dongen
- Do you speak Dutch? (PimDarts)
Ja, tuurlijk!
2. Do you prefer to play darts in the Netherlands or in the USA? (Jojo and Kurt - Matador Darts)
I never really played darts in the Netherlands so that's a tough question to answer. One of the challenges in the USA is the traveling. Nothing really within driving distance for me.
3. Limburgse vlaai or an American hotdog? (Maikel Vervoort)
Greumele pudding vlaai!
4. Who was your idol in darts when you started playing? (Jojo)
Obviously Barney was the man when I started watching darts but probably my favorite was Co Stompe.
5. If you could win a PDC major, except the world championship, which one would you prefer to win? (Borussia Darts)
The World Matchplay, because I won the CDC Matchplay here in the USA
6. Who is your favourite Dutch darts player? (Henry Cheal)
I would have to go with MvG, I love his passion but yet he is respectful to his opponents when he loses.
7. Do you drink something before a game? If so, what? (DartsAnonymous)
Yes, I usually have a shot of bourbon and a beer. After that I try to drink a water for every beer I have. Important to not drink too much and stay hydrated.
8. How did you get in contact with your darts sponsor Loxley? (Wim Blokpoel)
I was approached by one of my other new sponsors that work closely with Loxley, once the initial contact was made it was pretty clear for me I wanted to sign with them despite having other offers.
9. What are your future targets in darts? (WDF, PDC) (Jojo, Henry Cheal)
I just qualified for Lakeside, hoping to have a good showing there, from there I go straight to Q school Germany. I'm hoping go keep growing and gaining experience. 2021 was my first year of really playing tournaments across the country. 2021 surpassed all my expectations, however I do know I still have a lot to learn and gain experience especially on the stage. 2022 will all be about gaining more experience and trying to keep winning titles. Im giving myself 3 years at Q school to see if I can get my tourcard.
10. Would playing in Europe be part of any future goals or would you prefer to stay in the US? (Kurt - Matador Darts)
If I would win my tourcard I would probably travel back and forth and if things with go really well I would consider moving my family back to Europe
