No more free darts in the Netherlands in 2022

Wim Blokpoel - Today the rumours were confirmed: RTL7 loses the rights to broadcast the PDC Darts TV tournaments. From 2022 onwards they will be shown at a new paid tv channel and stream from the Nordic entertainment group. The Nordic entertainment group, which also bought the rights to show the F1, Snooker and Bundesliga will have the darts rights for 5 years. This means the era of 10 years where RTL7 has had the rights to broadcast the darts will end. How much the new channel and stream will cost is still unknown. It’s also not sure wether the tv hosts (Marcel Maijer and Koert Westerman), commentators (Jacques Nieuwlaat and Co Stompé) or reporter Arjan van der Giessen will move along to the new broadcaster.
