MVG with bad performance, but win, against Durrant

Wim Blokpoel - Time for the return of the 2021 PDC Premier League Darts! MVG had so far 2 wins, 1 defeat and 2 draws. Today he played number 10 of the group, defending Premier League Chanpion Glen Durrant.

The match started very poor. Both players hold throw in 20 and 21 darts. MVG then seemed to wake up with a 15 and 16 darter to go 3-1 up, and made it 4-1 a leg later. 3 visits of missed doubles to make it 5-1 though, and Durrant got a break back despite averaging below 80. At this point MVG was only averaging 83 himself. Durrant surprisingly followed it by a good leg (14 darts) to make it 4-3, and MVG decided to take another set of darts (although it were the same darts, just a few months newer). This seeme to help him as 2 15-darters gave him the first point: 6-3. MVG followed it by a 50 finish in 2 darts, and a 7-3 win. Despite that it was MVG’s worst average in a winning game in the Premier League ever, but a win is a win! Tomorrow Van Gerwen plays the final game of the night against Gary Anderson! MVG needs to play better than today, but I’m sure it’s gonna be a great match!
