MVG Into semi-finals Nordic Darts Masters

Wim Blokpoel - This weekend the first World Series event of 2021 is played in Copenhagen: the Viaplay Nordic Darts Masters. Only Dutchman in the field is World Number Three Michael van Gerwen.

MVG started in the last 16 against Lithuanian Darius Labanauskas. A tense game saw Labanauskas go 5-4 up, but then MVG had 2 very good legs to make it 6-5 as he went into the quarter-finals.

In these quarter-finals Mighty Mike played Latvian Madars Razma. At the first commercial break it was 4-1 for MVG, and in leg 6 he took out a 132 on the bull to go 5-1 up. Next break this was 7-3 a very comfortable lead for the man from Vlijmen. An 11-darter out of nowhere from Razma made it 7-4, but it soon became 9-4 and even 10-4 for Michael van Gerwen who is into the semi-finals now!

Tonight MVG will be looking for his first tv final and first PDC title of 2021, as he takes on Welshman Jonny Clayton in the semi-finals. Clayton beat MVG in both the Masters and Premier League this year so MVG will be looking for revenge!
