Meulenkamp and Landman with 3-0 wins at World Championship
Wim Blokpoel - Today the 2022 PDC World Championship started for 2 Dutchmen: Chris Landman and Ron Meulenkamp.
In round 1 ‘The Countryman’ Chris Landman made his PDC Worlds debut against fellow debutant Scott Mitchell. In set 1, former BDO World Champion Mitchell missed 8 darts at double, while Landman did take his chances and won the set 3-0 in legs! In set 2 Mitchell missed 5 more darts at double, Landman won it 3-0 again, and very soon he saw himself to 2-0 uo without having lost a leg! In set 3 Landman went 2-0 up as well, with Mitchell having an horendous 0/15 hits on double. He finally got a leg, 2 in fact, but Landman managed to win the last leg as he beat Scotty Dog Mitchell 3-0! The 2020 BDO World Championship quarter-finalist Landman now plays Ian White in the last 64 on saturday afternoon.

Ron The Bomb Meulenkamp played 4 time Ladies World Champion Lisa Ashton in his first round. Once again the opponent of the Dutchmen missed a lot of darts at double which resulted in a 3-1 win for Meulenkamp in set 1. In set 2 Meulenkamp hit a 12-darter and comfortably won it 3-0 with Ashton playing far below her normal level. Set 3 was easy for the man from Almere again, he won it 3-1 with a 97-finish in leg 4 and another 3-0 win for a Dutchman! Meulenkamp now plays Michael Smith in the last 64, as he’s gonna try to make the last 32 in Ally Pally for the very first time
