Early exit for Wattimena at 2022 World Championship

Wim Blokpoel - Yesterday afternoon the third Dutchman started his 2022 PDC World Chanpionship campaign as Jermaine Wattimena took on Russian Boris Koltsov.

Koltsov started set 1, and also managed to win it 3-1, a slow start from the Machine Gun. In set 2 Wattimena got broken immediately by the Russian. Wattimena broke straight back, but the man from Westervoort missed too much doubles in the next 2 legs as Koltsov won that set 3-1 as well…. In set 4 Koltsov started brilliant again and went 1-0 and even 2-0 up. He then missed 3 matchdarts as Wattimena broke back and held throw for 2-2 in set 3. Wattimena then got 3 darts to win the set, but missed them all. Koltsov did take his chance this time and beat Wattimena 3-0 in sets, to end a disappointing 2021 for Wattimena and sent the first Dutchman home.
