Draw for MVG against Anderson in Premier League

Wim Blokpoel - Tonight it was time for night 7 of the 2021 Premier League of Darts. Dutch star Michael van Gerwen took on 2 time World Champion and 2 time Premier League Champion Gary Anderson.

MVG and Anderson always play great against each other. Today this was shown in the start of the match as a 13, 14, 15 and 16 darter made it 2-2. Another 15-darter for MVG and a 14-darter for the Flying Scotsman to make it a 3-3 in a very good match. Then the quality got down a bit: van Gerwen missed 7 darts at double but still won the leg in 18 darts, the same as the leg after to get a 2 leg advantage for the first time in the match and go 5-3 up. But Anderson came back to 5-4 and with a 78-checkout in 2 darts he made it even 5-5. The first point however was for MVG who held throw in 15-darters. In the final leg MVG got one chance on 124 but couldn’t find a treble with the first 2 darts as Anderson hit a 68-checkout to make it 6-6. Tomorrow it’s a tough opponent for MVG as he plays Grand Slam Champion José de Sousa on night 8. With 9 points MVG is now third on the list, on the same amount of points as Nathan Aspinall.
