Draw for 2022 World Championship (+ schedule)

Wim Blokpoel - The PDC announced the draw for the 2022 World Darts Championship! 

In round 1, 6 Dutchmen start their campaign. Former World Cup semi-finalist Jermaine Wattimena plays Russian Boris Koltsov, while Chris Landman makes his PDC World Championship debut against fellow debutant, and former BDO World Champion, Scott Mitchell. Ron ‘the Bomb’ Meulenkamp gets one of the ladies: female tourcard holder Lisa Ashton! Maik Kuivenhoven plays Australian debutant Ky Smith, while Martijn Kleermaker makes his debut against Greece’s John Michael. Finally, Raymond van Barneveld makes his return to Ally Pally after a year absence. The 2007 PDC World Champion plays Lourence Ilagan first, and then potentially 2018 PDC World Champion Rob Cross!!

Dutch number one and third seed Michael van Gerwen, 3 time PDC World Champion, plays either Chas Barstow or John Norman Jr. The winner of Wattimena - Koltsov plays last year’s quarter-finalist ‘Aubergenius’ Dirk van Duijvenbode, so potentially an all Dutch second round! Danny Noppert starts against either Jason Heaver or Juan Rodriguez from Spain, while Vincent van der Voort plays his first game against either Adam Hunt or Croatian Boris Krcmar.
