Doets and Zonneveld winning Development Tour 3&4
Wim Blokpoel - Yesterday the EU Development Tour was continued with 2 more events. The success of the Dutchmen yesterday, with Jurjen van der Velde winning event 1, was followed very good today!
Just like in event 1, 7 of the 8 quarter-finalists in event 3 were Dutch! Event 1 finalist Bradly Roes made sure it were 4 Dutch semi-finalists as he beat German Tobias Scheifl 5-3. The very talented Kevin Doets beat Yoeri Brouwer 5-3 as well, while another 5-3 win came from ‘The Pigeon’ Mike van Duivenbode against Uitgeest’s Niels Zonneveld. Finally, event 1 winner Jurjen van der Velde reached another semi-final by whitewashing Maikel Verberk 5-0. In the semi’s it was a comfortable 5-2 win for 23-year-old Doets against Bradly Roes. Mike van Duivenbode very impressively made the final in the first weekend of darts he’s played in a year time: he beat Van der Velde 5-2. The final went all the way as it was 4-4 between Doets and Van Duivenbode. Eventually Doets managed to win 5-4 with an average of 93,6. He picks up his 4th PDC title, and second Development Tour title!
