5 Dutchmen qualified for Eurotours in Prague and Sindelfingen
Wim Blokpoel - Friday 2 more PDC European Tour events were held: for the Eurotours in Prague and Sindelfingen which will be played next month.
Prague
Vincent van der Voort started well with a 6-3 win over George Killington, and then managed to qualify for Prague by averaging a ton in a 6-4 win against Canadian Jeff Smith! Very important for Van der Voort’s World Matchplay race. Urk’s Geert Nentjes been in grrat form lately, and that paid off. He first edged out Eddie Lovely 6-5 and then whitewashed Castricum’s Jimmy Hendriks 6-0! Nentjes finally qualifies for his first European Tour of the year! Hendriks himself, hit a nine-darter before that 0-6 loss, in a 6-0 win himself over Chris Dobey where he averaged 107,4. But consistensy is key as we all know. The consistensy of Jermaine Wattimena ends here, as he qualified for all of the first 5 Eurotours of the year, but won’t go to Prague: he loses 5-6 to Jason Lowe.
Martijn Kleermaker started with a 6-4 win over Keegan Brown, and then averaged 101,8 in a 6-4 win over Scotty Dog Scott Mitchell to qualify for Prague! Jeffrey de Zwaan started to show some form, as he averaged 97,4 in a 6-1 win over Peter Hudson, and then edged out Kim Huybrechts 6-5 to qualify for his third Eurotour of the year! Finally, Dutch American Jules van Dongen beat Rusty-Jake Rodriguez 6-3 and then demolished Nathan Rafferty 6-1 with a 98 average to make his European Tour debut, at the Czech Darts Open.
Sindelfingen
Holten’s Danny Jansen beat Jonathan Worsley 6-4, and then averaged 101,3 to whitewash Ross Montgomery 6-0 and qualify for Sindelfingen! Martijn Kleermaker was the second player this year to beat Jermaine Wattimena in a Eurotour qualifier (6-2), and then made it a double qualification as he edged out Geert de Vos 6-5 and qualifies for both Prague and Sindelfingen! UK Open Champion Danny Noppert had an easy 6-1 win over Jack Main, and then beat Keegan Brown 6-4 to qualify for Sindelfingen as well.
Uitgeest’s Niels Zonneveld edged out Canadian Jeff Smith 6-5, and then qualified after a 6-2 win over Ross Smith with an average of 95,9! Last qualifier is Almere’s Ron the Bomb Meulenkamp! Meulenkamp beat Ian White 6-1, and then had a 6-3 win over Dutch American Jules van Dongen but even needed a third win to qualify, which he got! He beat Devon Petersen 6-4 and will also be playing in the Glaspalast in Sindelfingen!
