5 Dutch qualifiers for ET4 and ET5
Wim Blokpoel - Yesterday the Eurotour qualifiers 4 and 5 were played. With Michaek van Gerwen and Dirk van Duijvenbode already in those events as seeds, a lot of Dutchmen tried to join them.
Jermaine Wattimena who qualified for the first 3 Eurotours already, beat Canadian Jeff Smith 6-1, and then edged out Mervyn King 6-5, despite King averaging 10 points higher, to qualify for his 4th Eurotour in a row! Berry van Peer had a surprising 6-3 win over Daryl Gurney, ans then he played Kevin Doets who he edged out 6-5 to qualify for his 2nd Eurotour in a row! Jeffrey de Zwaan survived multiple matchdarts against Jason Lowe and then edged him out 6-5, before he won 6-5 again over Chris Dobey to also qualify for his 2nd Eurotour in a row! Danny Jansen averaged 95 as he edged out Jason Heaver 6-5, and then averaged 101,5 in a 6-3 win over Ritchie Edhouse! That means Jansen will make his Eurotour debut in Graz in may! And finally, Danny Noppert comfortably beat Danish Vladimir Andersen 6-1, before the UK Open Champion beat Martin Lukeman 6-3 to also qualify for the Austrian Darts Open in Graz!
In the qualifier for ET5 however, Noppert lost 4-6 to Berry van Peer. Van Peer then also beat Peter Hudson 6-3 to qualify for his third Eurotour in a row! Maik Kuivenhoven beat William Borland 6-3, and then Dutch American Jules van Dongen 6-4, to also qualify for Leverkusen. Kevin Doets beat Ryan Meikle 6-1, and then Darius Labanauskas 6-3 to make his Eurotour debut! Luc Peters beat Mervyn King 6-5 despite averaging 9 points lower, and then Croatian Boris Krcmar 6-3 to also play in Leverkusen. And finally, Jermaine Wattimena averaged 99 to beat William O’Connor 6-2, and then edged out Danny Jansen 6-5 to make it 5 out of 5 Eurotour qualifications!
