4 Dutch winners in round 1 of the 2021 PC Finals
Martijn Kleermaker started against former Lakeside World Champion Scott Mitchell. Kleermaker scored better, but missed 6(!!!) matchdarts, as he lost 5-6. Ron Meulenkamp suffered a 1-6 defeat on the main stage against Polish Krzysztof Ratajski, while Jermaine Wattimena lost 2-6 to Rob Cross. Dirk van Duijvenbode played Ryan Meikle and averaged a brilliant 105 but lost! Meikle won 6-5 while averaging 108, very unlucky for Aubergenius…
Who did win was The Freeze Danny Noppert. A ton + average saw him beat Austrian Rowby-John Rodriguez comfortably 6-2. Vincent van der Voort beat Jelle Klaasen 6-3, who now has to make the worlds to keep his tourcard. 2 other Dutch battles were played in round 1. Raymond van Barneveld had quite a return to Minehead, as the 5 time World Champion averaged 104 in a 6-1 win over Maik Kuivenhoven. Finally, Michael van Gerwen beat Dutch talent Kevin Doets 6-3.
